Recovery Coaching

At JP Recovery Center, our recovery coaches are individuals who have lived experience with addiction recovery and have been trained to help their peers with a similar experience to gain hope, explore recovery, and achieve life goals. Recovery coaches are actively engaged in their own personal recovery and share real-world knowledge and experience with others who are on their own recovery path. Recovery coaches share their personal experiences in an effort to establish an equitable relationship and support recoverees in obtaining and maintaining recovery.

JP Recovery Center's coaches serve as valuable liaisons, helping individuals to access a variety of community resources.  Recovery coaches can work with you to help you set and achieve goals and increase your recovery capital, as well as share their extensive knowledge of area resources. You are able to meet with a coach as needed or with regularly scheduled meetings. There is no commitment required.

What do Recovery Coaches do?

  • Provide recovery, social, and emotional support.

  • Support all pathways of recovery.

  • Share their own recovery experiences and use coaching and mentoring techniques to support a recoveree’s awareness and understanding that he/she possesses their own recovery capital to help sustain recovery.

  • Support recoverees in making positive life changes and developing skills to facilitate their recovery.

  • Assist in creating and enacting a Wellness Plan (optional).

  • Help recoverees by discussing strategies to develop recovery-supportive friendships, reconnecting or improving family relationships, and identifying and using recovery-community networks.

  • Act in an open and transparent way as a role model and living example of a person in recovery.

  • Assist recoverees in learning self-advocacy skills.

  • Act as mentors, assisting the recoveree’s recovery process and supporting their goals and decisions.
